About The Landgrove:
A Historic Inn with a New Chapter
The Landgrove is a historic country inn, restaurant, tavern, and art studio in Landgrove, Vermont, surrounded by the Green Mountains of Southern Vermont. For generations, people have come here to stay, gather, create, eat well, and experience this quiet corner of New England.
Today, The Landgrove brings together a 16-room Vermont inn, VildaHaus restaurant, our 1840s tavern, and The Landgrove Studio — home to more than 35 artist workshops and creative retreats each year.
We’re Bruce and Emily Haupt, and in 2025, along with our three daughters, we became the next caretakers of The Landgrove.
Our goal is simple: preserve the character and history that make this place special while giving it new energy for the years ahead. That means comfortable guest rooms, memorable food, a thriving community of artists, and plenty of reasons to discover Southern Vermont.
Whether you’re here for an art workshop, a weekend in the Green Mountains, dinner with friends, a wedding or retreat, or simply a quiet place to get away, we hope The Landgrove feels like a place worth finding.
Meet the Innkeepers
Meet Bruce
Bruce's career in strategy, finance, technology, and public-sector transformation are a perfect backbone to owning The Landgrove — he manages the finances and books, and also brings an innovative enthusiasm for trying new ideas and maintaining a nearly 200-year-old Vermont property.
Bruce is focused on what comes next for The Landgrove — with new ways to build on what has made this place special for generations. He brings a love of connecting people. You’ll find him working across the Inn, Studio, and VildaHaus, usually with another idea already taking shape.
Meet Emily
Emily’s path to innkeeping has been anything but traditional. With a background spanning geology, project management, technology, app design and product ownership — including work on projects around the world — she brings an unusual mix of creative and practical experience to The Landgrove.
Today, Emily leads much of the Inn’s guest experience, design, events, marketing, and creative development. She manages The Landgrove’s website and digital presence, including website design and content, social media, and photography, while also reimagining guest rooms, developing new experiences, and finding new ways to tell the story of The Landgrove, VildaHaus, and the Studio.
